The focus of this web-site is on images, the vision and the thought process that has been part of the creation of an image and less on the technology and equipment. However I am a Fuji Medium Format user and the announcement of this lens is very important. The most used focal-distances for the work I do are wide, normal and 'small' tele and anything in between. Up to today the range between normal and 'small' tele did not exist for the Fuji GFX format. So I'm really looking forward getting my hands on a copy and try it out. If its quality is anything near the other lenses I will be tempted to get a copy for myself.
Today Fuji announced the GF45-100F4 R LM OIS WR which is a weather-sealed zoom and covers an equivalent range of 36-79mm and it includes 5 stop image stabilization.. The GF 45-100mm is sealed at 11 points to ensure dust- and moisture-resistance, and will continue operating in temperatures as low as -10°C. It weighs 1005g. The lens will become available late February.
